“Welcome house, Dallas Texans!,” Johnson wrote on X, previously Twitter.

The franchise was initially named the Dallas Texans and competed within the American Soccer League earlier than rebranding in 1963 and transferring to Missouri.

Johnson ended the submit with #CottonBowl, suggesting the Chiefs might play house video games on the Cotton Bowl, which has undergone and estaimted $140 million in renovations.

Though the Dallas Cowboys play in close by Arlington, Johnson was assured the town has the demand for an additional NFL franchise.

“Dallas was named the highest sports activities metropolis in the USA as a result of we play to win,” Johnson instructed the Dallas Morning Information.

“As I’ve mentioned beforehand, our market is large enough, rising sufficient and loves soccer greater than sufficient to help a second NFL team — particularly a franchise with deep roots right here.”

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was born in Texas and performed school soccer at Texas Tech. Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt has a house in Dallas.
