Keith Olbermann accused of saying he hopes Trump will be assassined


Keith Olbermann has sparked outrage by saying “there’s at all times the hope” that former President Donald Trump might be tweeted worse than Abraham Lincoln, who was assassinated.

The previous MSNBC host was reacting on X to a video clip reposted by President Biden’s marketing campaign HQ by which the presumptive Republican presidential nominee mentioned Lincoln and Andrew Jackson had been handled the worst of their lifetimes — whereas complaining that “no person comes near Trump.”

“Trump says he has been handled worse than Abraham Lincoln, who was assassinated,” the Biden marketing campaign account archly identified.

Olbermann responded: “There’s at all times the hope.”

The menacing quip from the left-wing political commenter and former sportscaster drew fireplace from many customers.

“Nothing to see right here… Simply Keith Olbermann overtly wishing d*ath upon Trump,” Libs of TikTok wrote.

Many argued that Olbermann needs to be booted from X for doubtlessly violating the platform’s phrases of service, with some tagging proprietor Elon Musk.

“This account needs to be completely suspended,” one critic with 83,000 followers fumed. 

Podcaster Dr. Joseph Ford Cotto wrote: “Do you suppose Keith Olbermann cares that he has mainly develop into a social media clown?”

“On the price you’re going, you’ll find yourself getting a go to from the authorities,” consumer Viva Frei, who has 590,000 followers, posted.

Olbermann seems to have deleted the message on his X account, which has greater than 984,000 followers. He responded to the backlash by saying his “hope” was about Trump being handled badly.

“I’m hoping Trump’s proper, that he IS handled worse than Lincoln. As I’ve mentioned for 9 years: THAT HE’S CONVICTED, THEN DIES IN PRISON,” he wrote.
