Gates launched an announcement that coincided with that of his former partner, thanking her for “her crucial contributions to the Basis from its very starting.”

Gates stated French Gates “has been instrumental in shaping our methods and initiatives, considerably impacting international well being and gender equality.”

“I’m sorry to see her go away, however I’m positive she may have a big impact in her future philanthropic work,” Gates wrote of his ex-wife.
